Reduce, Recycle, Reworx.
Security and privacy of data are extremely important when recycling unwanted PCs. Regardless of whether a PC is functional or not, it has a hard drive full of data. For businesses, this includes sensitive information about customers or clients, as well as other business information. PCs in your home contain sensitive data like financial information, passwords, and personal information. When donating or recycling computers, it’s important that all sensitive data is removed completely. ReWorx Recycling can handle all data destruction requirements.
Remarketing potential of electronic equipment is assessed according to contractual agreements. In order to remarket reusable equipment, proprietary information shall be removed according to NIST SP 800-88 Guidelines for Media Sanitization, as well as contractual obligations. Failure to meet reuse standards, outdated or unrecyclable equipment will be destroyed by de-manufacturing or physical destruction. You should also wipe or reset any phones, PDAs, tablets, enterprise routers, switches, and VPN firewalls before recycling them.
The data destruction options we provide are tailored to meet your specific requirements
Each item processed by Reworx Recyling is thoroughly inspected and protected by removing Asset Tags, Stickers, and Identifying marks (Sanitization). Every drive is wiped free of charge during this initial inspection stage via the Department of Defense compliant erasure program.
On all hard drives picked up or dropped off at our warehouse, we offer free data sanitization using DoD 5220.22-M 3 Pass methods which will prevent all software-based file recovery methods.
In accordance with NIST SP 800-88 Guidelines for Media Sanitization, all old or non-functional hard drives and storage devices will be destroyed or shredded at no charge to you.
A “Certificate of Recycling & Data Destruction” can be provided to you which will state if any drives that were included in the pickup or drop off of equipment have been destroyed. Please include this in your online pickup request. For a nominal fee, we can also scan and record all serial numbers in a spreadsheet.
In order to protect your privacy, we wipe all hard drives without accessing any data on them.
We can create a detailed inventory list of the equipment picked up. For compliance purposes, this report will provide the manufacturer, model, serial number, and asset tag number(s) for each item.
By default, all failed or obsolete drives will be shredded at no cost to you.
Physical Hard Drive Destruction (Fee Per Drive)
As part of this service, we will pick up and securely deliver your hard drives, as well as any computers, laptops, and servers containing hard drives. Our secure facility will remove and shred all hard drives and record serial numbers.
A Certificate of Destruction will be emailed to the customer after the destruction with the date, media type, and method of destruction.
All compliance requirements are met by this service.
Physical Hard Drive Destruction (Fee Per Drive)
At our Smyrna warehouse, Reworx Recycling offers a visual verification of destruction to ensure your peace of mind. During the destruction, you will be able to watch the process. Physical destruction is considered the most effective method of ensuring absolute data destruction.
